What is UrbanChannel /® Raum-im-Raum?

Forty years ago, the press was looking for an explanation - and a term - for the great success of Europe's first open shopping experience in the networking of bricks-and-mortar retail and food service. One possible explanation was the ‘bazaar of modern times’.

The planner and realiser of this ‘bazaar’ then coined the term ‘UrbanChannel /® Raum-im-Raum’ (in reference to his scientific research).

In short: Raum-im-Raum is the added value in the independent position of supply areas.

Raum-im-Raum enables the revitalisation of existing spaces or property realignments, the offer of coordinated retailers and restaurateurs (service providers), as well as the integration of culture and leisure, to successfully exploit the targeted city centre location in the sector. The above is based on the economic sector-specific rent of the respective provider.

In these mixed uses, basic economic structures are created, also over several storeys, with the attraction of experiencing, meeting and lingering, in which people/customers are addressed continuously and always anew.

For the first time, property owners and project developers have the opportunity to think about the future of their property in upcoming revitalisations with secure usage concepts.
